This university Established in 1918, as the first European standard university in the Caucasus region, the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University combines Georgian values of education with world class standards.

The idea of the establishment of this university had taken roots early in the 19th century when Georgia was still struggling to free itself from the shackles of the Russian empire.

An assistant professor by profession who had studied in Petersburg, Ivane Javakhishvili started structuring the Georgian university during early 20th century. During the early stages of the February revolution in 1917, Javakhishvili, who was in Petersburg, had already started planning to establish the higher institution.

The university was named after its founder in 1989. The university has a lot to offer in terms of medical educational streams, both in undergraduate and postgraduate lessons.

New Campus to Accommodate 3000 Students :

A new campus will be built in Tbilisi and it will accommodate 3000 students, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Mikheil Batiashvili and Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, George Sharvashidze told journalists and representatives of higher educational institutions on November 22.

TSU will allocate the place for building the new campus. The new, European-standard campus will be located near the TSU Maglivi Building.

The project involves both common and individual rooms, as well as central and common kitchens, recreation and social areas, libraries, sport facilities, swimming pools and external multi-profile playgrounds. The campus will provide 24-hour security and cleaning services.

Tuition fees at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University must be paid in yearly installments as given below.
